Glass, Plastics and Resin Care

How To Make It Last

It’s important to treat your furniture and home décor with some general TLC so you can enjoy it season after season. We have put together a list of do’s and don'ts when it comes to maintaining the longevity of your glass, plastic or resin pieces.

DO:

  • Always transport glass pieces in an upright position and avoid laying them flat, as this helps reduce pressure and the risk of damage.

  • Use heat-resistant placemats and coasters to protect the surface from hot items, spills, and potential staining.

  • Clean up any spills immediately with a soft, damp cloth to prevent marks or residue from setting.

  • Regularly clean and gently buff the surface using a soft cotton cloth to maintain its finish and help prevent scratches. For best results, we recommend the Guardsman Cloth.

DON’T:

  • Avoid exposing glass pieces to direct sunlight for extended periods, as prolonged heat and UV exposure may affect the finish over time.

  • Do not use abrasive household cleaners, harsh chemicals, or rough cleaning tools, as these can scratch or damage the surface.

  • Avoid placing heavy or unevenly distributed items on glass tabletops to prevent stress on the glass.

  • Do not use feather dusters, as they can cause fine scratches on the surface.

We recommend the Guardsman cloth to help protect your household surfaces from being scratched and keep the dust at bay for your glass, plastic and resin accents. This cloth can also be used on blinds, appliances, cabinets, mirrors, ceiling fans, walls and railings.
