As the days get shorter and the nights grow colder, we spend more time indoors in the comfort of our homes. Now is the perfect time to make some changes to our interiors. With a little creativity, you can make your home the perfect retreat.
Will the minimalist style of furniture and décor remain popular this season? We reveal the latest interior design trends of 2023, and how you can use them in your home for a warm Autumn feel.
Here’s a closer look at the four top interior trends for Autumn 2023:
Maximalist style is slowly making a comeback with an ode to nostalgic furniture designs. This trend focuses on taking classic maximalist pieces and giving them a modern twist.
Interiors are focusing more on rich materials and incorporating colour and patterns in a quirky way. For those who are more subtle, consider decorating with patterned cushions, bold artworks and unique sculptural pieces. You can also use a statement rug to bring life and eye-catching design to your living room.
For the more daring stylists, experiment with mixing materials such as beautiful marbles, metal accents and black leather. The best thing about maximalist interiors is that there are no rules. There is no pattern too wild or a colour too loud. Don't be afraid to go for a more eclectic style and blend different eras and styles. Add layers of colour and texture to create a truly unique space that reflects you.
Organic shapes have been taking over the interior space through curved furniture and abstract décor. These shapes can give a space an organic and graceful look, bringing interest and life to your space.
Curves will continue to make a huge impact this season being injected into sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, mirrors and much more. Curved furniture pieces can add a softness to a room, as well as creating a more contemporary feel.
Our favourites include the latest Ravello dining table with beautiful sculptural legs, and our Mallow swivel chair in boucle. Whether it be your dining or living room, curved silhouettes create a soft ambience in your space that help promote the flow of your interior. These rounded designs transform a retro inspired style into a modern-day trend.
In preparation for Winter, now is the perfect time for decorating with earthy brown tones, warm oranges and dark greens. These tones create a warm inviting atmosphere and can balance out perfectly when paired with lighter accents for a contrast. This colour palette also complements natural materials, like reclaimed timbers, to transform your home into a nature inspired sanctuary.
Introducing fresh plants into your space can make a world of difference. They provide the opportunity to change around your pot plants seasonally or choose new vases to welcome in lush greenery and florals around empty corners in your home.
Use Pinterest or Instagram to find your style and be inspired with décor ideas. Follow a tonal colour theme that you love and keep a consistent look throughout each room in your home. Create a space that is an expression of your own style and reflects your personality.
Autumn is all about the transition from a light and airy style to a more cozy feel in your home. Layering is your best friend when it comes to adding warmth into each room. This can be done by simply introducing an array of decorative oversized cushions to your sofa, textured throw blankets on your bed, and a woolen rug underfoot.
Texture not only adds warmth to your space, but it creates a sense of visual interest and depth to your existing furniture pieces. This includes table lamps or floor lamps to bring a soft warm glow into your room, and artwork to fill empty walls with pops of colour and visual texture.
This is where you can really show off your personality and make it your own by choosing décor that has your own flair and preferred style. With careful selection, you can make your home a place that you love to be, and a place that others enjoy visiting.
