Entryway Styling 101

How to make an unforgettable home entrance

Your entryway is one of the most important parts of your home. It's where you welcome guests through the front door which will set the tone for the rest of the home, so first impressions are crucial. Whether it's a grand foyer or a modest hallway, the entryway provides an opportunity to showcase your unique taste and make a bold statement.

Keep reading to find out our top tips on how to make an unforgettable entrance into your home.

Less is more.

When it comes to designing your entryway, it is important to keep it minimal. Even if you have a small space to work with, you can still create a stunning and impactful entrance with the right styling.

Firstly, eliminate any clutter and unnecessary items so the space doesn’t feel crowded or overwhelming. Instead, opt for a clean look by only including essential pieces that serve a purpose. Choose a focal point that draws attention and adds visual interest. This could be a statement mirror, bold artwork, or a unique piece of furniture.

If you’re after a grand look and feel, we suggest a round table placed in the centre of your foyer. This is usually dedicated to looking modern and aesthetic. When it comes to styling, keep the design minimalistic, allowing the table to shine on its own. Opt for sleek and clean lines, avoiding excessive clutter. This will ensure that the table remains the star of the show, showcasing its beauty and enhancing the overall modern look.

For those smaller areas, consider adding a mirror to visually expand the space and provide a convenient spot for last-minute checks before heading out. Mirrors have the ability to create an illusion of depth and openness, making the entryway feel larger than it actually is. By reflecting light and bouncing it around the entryway, mirrors can also help to brighten up the space and make it feel more inviting.

Practicality is a must.

Not only does your entryway have to look beautiful, but it also serves as a dumping ground for everyday items.

For those with busy families who need to rush out the door, a functional option would be using a console table or sideboard. With concealed storage and a slim design against the wall, this will serve as a versatile space for organising house keys, shoes, bags and other items. It also provides the opportunity to hang a gorgeous artwork or mirror above the table for a touch of decor

Other easy solutions are the use of hooks, shelves, or baskets that provide a designated place for your everyday items. Use the walls and vertical space in your entryway by installing hooks or a wall-mounted coat rack that can help keep jackets and bags organised and off the floor.

Personal touches.

Finally, don't forget to add a personal touch to your entryway. Whether it's a family photo, a favorite plant, or a decorative accessory, adding elements that reflect your personality and style will make the space feel more inviting and unique.

Add a decorative accessory that speaks to your personal style. This could be a unique sculpture, a vintage trinket, or a handmade craft that holds sentimental value. By selecting an accessory that resonates with you, you can infuse your entryway with a sense of individuality and create a focal point that sparks conversation and intrigue. This personal touch will leave a lasting impression on your guests and make them feel welcome from the moment they step through the door.
